Do you believe?

A lot of people have heard this saying of Jesus and yet don't understand the meaning of it, some refuse to believe it others don't think at all about it. Yet it's a vital true saying of God himself. It determines where you spend eternity, we all know that death awaits us all, but afterwards lots of us like to think of going to heaven but we are not sure, but you can be sure, lets look at what God says in the saying." For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life." The last part of the verse speaks of not perishing but of having eternal life that is with God himself in heaven. God, the one true God, consisting of three persons, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, loves the world, that is the people of the world from every tribe and nation that he wants to save them from perishing. You see everyone is born a sinner, and our sin separates us from God, in this life, and in eternity, we are destined to perish if we continue to sin and live as we like without repenting of our sin and having God in our life, to perish means to suffer in eternity, after death we either go to the Lord, or a place of suffering without him. God loves us and wants us in heaven with him, so he has devised a plan to save us. This plan is found in Jesus Christ his son. Because we are destined to perish and cannot save ourselves we need someone who can save us, Jesus Christ is that saviour. Sin must be punished, and the penalty for sin is death, we are all condemned to die in this life, and destined to suffering in eternity, but God gave his son Jesus to suffer and die on a cross in our place so that we can be saved and raised him from the dead, so we can be made righteous. How are we saved then, by believing in his son Jesus? To believe in Jesus is not the same as believing of him, or about him, the devil believes that, and he isn't saved, to believe means having a personal relationship with him, believing in your heart that he died on the cross for you personally, to remove the sin that separates you from God and to ask him to be your personal saviour, and turn your life over to him, to trust in him daily, to hear from him, God speaks to you through his word the Bible. So then you must acknowledge that your a sinner, be willing to turn from your sins, believe that Jesus died for you to forgive you your sins, then commit yourself to him, and read the bible to hear from him, you will start a new life afresh, and the holy spirit will guide you. Talk to God as you would talk to a friend. Do you believe it? If so you could say this little prayer, Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner, I want to turn from my sin, forgive me my sins, I believe that you died on the cross to save me, I ask you into my life to guide me, I receive the Holy Spirit to teach me. Thank you Lord Amen. If you have made this decision then you are saved and have eternal life, it starts now, and you will be absolutely sure of going to Heaven.
