I would like to thank Josh Mc Dowell for information received from his book the Deceivers.
How to recognise a cult is basically that they deny one or all of the major fundamental doctrines of Christian orthodox beliefs, e.g. the Trinity, The Person of Christ, the Atonement, the doctrine of Salvation, the Resurrection of Christ, and the doctrine of man by meaning man's sinfulness, and his inability to save himself from the wrath of God. Beware of any group who changes these essential doctrines, they will change the interpretation of the bible to suit their views on their erroneous doctrines and even change the wording of the bible in their quest to get their erroneous teachings across. The bible condemns such people for teaching false doctrines and trying to deceive people from the good news of the Gospel message. Though they will agree to everything you say about the true Christian message their perception of what you say will be totally different from the true teaching of the bible. God condemns them in his word. ( I warn everyone who hears the word of the prophecy of this book, if anybody adds anything to them ,God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.) (Revelation 22:18&19) and again Peter writes quoting Paul ( He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters, his letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable distort, as they do the other Scriptures.) ( 2 Peter 3:16) Christ himself warned that false prophets would come ( Watch out for false prophets, they come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves) (Matthew 7:15) Also those who deny the Person of Christ ( For certain men whose condemnation was writing about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a licence for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only sovereign and Lord. ( Jude 4) No matter what, there are a lot more Scriptures referring to such people who look and seem devoted to God, or will try to change and bring worldliness into the church, the basic aim is the same to deceive, the doctrines they teach are the doctrines of demons. ( The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.) (1Timothy 4:1) I do hope that these articles will give you an understanding of what some cults believe, and remember if you are in Christ you have the Spirit of God in you. These people do not, and the Spirit will guide you into all truth (But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth, He will not speak on his own, He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come) ( John 16:13)
