Hi my name is David Victory, I first and foremost want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for his mercy and grace shown to me, and for taking the punishment that was due to me, which was the penalty of death because of my sins, for dying in my place, and giving me a new life with the one true God. May his name be praised forever and ever.
I was born in the town of Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland, and grew up there as a teenager where when one is that age, everything seems to be exciting and adventurous. I started to dabble in the alcohol and drug scene of the time, and I thought that this was a wonderful life. I started to become interested in my spiritual life and got involved in the occult and reading about witchcraft. As time passed I became dependent on Alcohol and drugs to inspire me but unfortunately, all it did was depress me. I was left asking myself is this all there is to life, is this it?
I remember one time I went to Church and this Scripture came to me, " I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10b) I was religious and spiritual by the age of my twenties but mixed up in regards to my spiritual life. I knew more about occultism than Christ, Christ wasn't real to me. But yet I was searching. I wanted this abundant life, that Christ was talking about.
It was through my brother who came home from Canada, who had been a born again Christian for a couple of years, who one night explained the gospel to me, I realised that I could not do anything to get to heaven that it was all done through Jesus, that by repenting of my sins, and accepting Jesus into my life, I would receive the Holy Spirit into me, and I would be saved, that night I did that, and I haven't looked back This is not just a renewal of my old life, but a completely new life, to live a spiritual life, only found in Christ, not with religious rituals or ceremonies, but life found in God's word, I didn't know that God speaks to us through the Bible, now I read it everyday to hear from God, and let him change me, and live the life he wants me to live. And its not a life of alcohol and drugs. Jesus has freed me from that old life.
Since I have been saved I find that the gospel message is very important in my life to share with others, I do this often when the chance occurs in going door to door with the gospel message. Like the Scripture says in ( Acts 5:42) Jesus has told us to preach the gospel, for it is his wish for everyone to be saved, not everyone will accept him, they are quiet content in their sin, and want to enjoy the pleasures of this sinful life. You must realise that your a sinner and the penalty is death if you don't come to Christ in repentance. I have found the abundant life that Christ said he had and lots of more people who came to be born again will tell you also. I urge you on Christ's behalf to accept the life he is talking about, and know that you are saved, and sure of getting to heaven
Yours in Christ
David Victory..
